Gone away is the bluebird
Here to stay is a new bird…
Well, that year has flown by hasn’t it? It feels like minutes since I was writing last year’s festive message and here we are again. I hope it’s been a good one for you.
For the coop, it’s been incredibly busy, for which I can’t thank you enough. I’d also like to thank the team I work with too, I couldn’t have managed all of this without them! I know not many of you get to see my creative flock, but those privileged few know they’re in safe and capable wings.
So much has happened this year, it’s hard to summarise the highlights.
Liverpool John Moores University Brand Development
We’ve been extremely privileged to develop a suite of postgraduate prospectuses for Liverpool John Moores University, from concept through to design development and content, we looked after the entire project, collaborating with the university’s lecturers Heads of Schools and Marketing departments in order to capture just the right message and image for this progressive and ambitious university.
26 brochures and very long nights later we’re really proud of what we’ve achieved. The prospectuses have been very well received and the elegant new colour palette manage to capture the sense of prestige and status that the university was searching for.

We also instructed the help of talented illustrator Sophie Green, to help us develop a collection of contemporary and vibrant university themed illustrations.

Architectural Panel Solutions Launches Downer Designer
We launched a brand new online portal, dedicated to making life easier, for Architectural Panel Solutions’ customers. Downer Designer is a free to use online tool designed to take the headache out of calculating and costing rainscreen framing projects. Take a look.
We’ve also been extremely proactive in driving brand awareness of its innovative facade solutions, with the development of two key websites.

What’s more we’ve been instrumental in helping APS make the Dezeen longlist with their impressive Brent Cross Station Downer project, and supported them with numerous award pitches. Tom Walker very nearly took away the award for Outstanding Achievement at the Facade Awards.

Unity Doors Cohesive & Captivating Customer Communications
We managed to get a whole suite of new comm’s over the line for Unity Doors; encompassing a new corporate brochure featuring compelling case studies to help sell-in their offer, as well as supportive and instructional guides and care documents. (More is to follow but I can’t tell too many secrets.)
This suite of communications reinforces Unity Doors position as a leader in the composite door and bespoke timber door markets and demonstrates that it puts its ethos of customer service at the forefront of everything they do.

We’ve welcomed on board 4 additional clients. Below is a sneak preview of one of those client’s brands in development. I’m looking forward to showing you more in the new year.

Last but not least we have some new faces in the coop…
We have a new ‘cockerel’ in the coop (Got to be careful with how I say that one…)
Please say hello to Loic, who has joined Redhen as Commercial Director and will be supporting Redhen with both project management and commercial development. Loic has extensive experience within the architectural product market specifically, having spent many years as director for both Cosentino and Trimo (France.)
And so, it’s been somewhat of a wonderland this year. I’m eager to see what the next year brings, and I hope that for you, it brings everything you’ve wanted and more!

To round off, as I quite often do, I’m finishing with a little look at some of this year’s best Christmas ads, that have us feeling all fuzzy and warm inside: https://www.itsnicethat.com/news/top-five-christmas-adverts-2023-advertising-011223
‘Across the board, agencies and directors did seem to be looking for more authentic portrayals of the holiday period, which is refreshing, as well as utilising some weirder concepts. As always, there were a few too many to digest in a single sitting, so we’ve gathered together our five favourites. But, if you only have time for one, we’d direct you to this excellent Christmas advert for a pub in Ireland which was shot for £700 and proves that you don’t need a huge budget to deliver something creative and sincere. ‘
‘Sleigh bells ring, are you listening?…’
Have a wonderful Christmas from all the team at Redhen Creative.
